Jeff Session is on a crusade to criminalize weed again.

Yes as it is a waste of tax payer money to keep it criminalized.

At this point I dont think weed is a partisan issue. Old people resist weed no matter where they fall in the political spectrum

No, however I do support the controlled extraction of anything with medicinal value from cannabis.

I am conservative and a former law enforcement officer. I support the legalization of marijuana. I honestly dont see any viable purpose for it to be illegal. It creates more work for law enforcement and it devastates offenders that are caught with it. Marijuana does no real harm to society outside of the simple fact of its illegal status.

Yes I do
Legalize it but make any fuck up you have while under the influence have a much stiffer punishment. Sit your ass in your house and don't risk injuring innocent people.

Yes, I do. I've never used it, nor do I have any desire to, but there's really no good reason for it to be illegal; Even from a recreational standpoint. Sessions needs to piss off with his crusade. Not only is he wrong, but his position is literally the opposite of most Conservatives. We want less federal government and stronger State's rights. The only people that care about weed are old people, and that's because throughout their entire life, marijuana has been demonized and used as a fear tactic.

So out of curiosity, how many domestic disputes did you encounter with people high on weed? Now how many with people drunk on alcohol?
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Weed should be legal, it is so much sacer then cigarettes.

Not really. They're both smoked plants so that brings all sorts of bad shit for your lungs.

Tobacco also doesn't get you high.

How would you go about doing that?

Science
As a conservative, what I support is repealing federal control over marijuana and letting states decide for themselves. And frankly, if Trump does that, he's basically secured reelection. He will have satisfied both liberals and conservatives.

I'm not particularly conservative but I vote republican more often than not. Of course.

All these "conservatives" saying they love states rights until its something that's not abortion or guns and the fed knows what's best. No brain just party loyalty.

No it's not "basically" what Obama did because it's still illegal under federal law. All he did was tell the fed to turn a blind eye to illegal activity. Do it properly, amend federal law and let states decide. The head of the executive branch promoting lawlessness is... silly.
