Have you mainly had male bosses or female bosses?

With the exception of a few months, I've had female bosses (about 5) for the past 10 years.
I've had 3 female bosses and 1 male boss

How did things vary with them?

The one male boss I had was inept and I was the real brains behind the operation. He even got fired because he couldn't do the work when I was on vacation.

Perfectly even. 4 male bosses, and 4 female bosses. But I guess I've had more male bosses since one of the female bosses was filling in for my male boss at my last place as he was out for four months for some reason. But I count her as a boss since she was able to get more done with me than the male boss did for the entirety of my tenure there.
...i have no idea.

weird.
every boss in my company up the chain from me is male unless you count HR.

other departments have female bosses, though.
Its pretty close to even, with male bosses slightly in the lead.
And as her clothes all tumbled 'round her, I could hear my heart

2 female mentors, 1 male mentor. The male mentor was a whole lot more serious.

All of my mentors have been great, thankfully.

If I include part time/minimum wage, the numbers are 3 female/2 male. But those positioms are so different that it's not really worth comparing.

I've had female supervisors in previous jobs, but truth be told I think I've only ever had male bosses.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

Since college

Job 1 - First was a male but then he went to a different company and was replaced with a female. The boss above them (the CFO) was a female
Job 2 - direct boss was male, but the bosses above him were F -> F -> M (CFO)
Job 3 - direct boss was a female and was the only boss I've had that I didn't like. No one liked her and I recently was told that she had been recently fired.
Job 4 - Direct boss is male but there is technically another person who is basically on the same level as him and she is also technically my boss and she is female. The boss above them is male though.
1 male and 2 female so far. They're all been pretty nice people.

At the store I worked at for seven years, the majority of front-end managers (which is who I directly answered to) were female, but I don't recall ever seeing a female store manager.

Part time a bit of both. For my current job my closest boss is a woman, above her is only men. My advisor is a man though, my part of STEM doesn't have a lot of women.

I haven't worked that much but I had a female supervisor, a female boss, and now a female boss and manager. Smh and people say the patriarchy is in charge.
How quaint.
mostly male, probably 80/20 split. All but 2 female bosses were in retail environments. And of the 2 female bosses i had that were not, one had 1 subordinate (me), she no longer has anyone due to cutbacks. The other works in a place that promotes women ahead of men to try to buck the trend. I get it, it's a noble effort, but it's still the EXACT same thing as promoting a man simply because he's a man
No idea, probably a 50/50 split. Last two jobs I've had are places that employ tons of people with high turnover, so there's lots of different supervisors and managers I've worked under. If you just mean the bigger bosses that boss the underling supervisors, then I guess it would be 4 women and 4 men.
4 female bosses, 1 male.
