Most trolls on CE use it as a gimmick because they get the most replies and attention. There are good conservative posters here, but once again it's the loud minority that gets the most attention.

Most of the mods are liberal, so there is definitely somewhat of a liberal bias, although it's not malicious.

Best example of this is the way posts about Obama were treated versus the way posts about Trump are treated. People would regularly be modded for offensive/trolling for bringing up factual things Obama did, like killing innocent children in a drone strike. Meanwhile, there is a topic calling Trump mentally ill on CE right now (which is using mental illness as an insult) and pretty much every other form of insult that a mod would never delete. Similarly, it's far more acceptable to make blanket insults of Trump supporters (i.e. racist, bigots, Nazis) than it ever was of Obama supporters.

I agree that Trump is definitely a piece of shit compared to Obama, but that's not an excuse for the mods have such lopsided views on what's a violation. Again, I don't think this is conscious or malicious, but that's often the nature of how bias works.

I got a 3KL for saying Antifa promotes violence. The moderator said "Antifa just means anti-fascist. They don't ALL promote violence!" Never mind that in every video of Antifa I've seen, they're calling for violent action and rioting.

Most of the mods are liberal, so there is definitely somewhat of a liberal bias, although it's not malicious.

As someone who's been on the receiving end of it for roughly eight years, I can say with confidence that it's malicious.

The moderator said "Antifa just means anti-fascist. They don't ALL promote violence!"

I have a screen from that time their former community manager defended the moderation of an anti-ISIS message, along the same lines of "they aren't ALL bad!"
