The Very very first time.

My Blastoise was the bane of all pokelife when I got to the Elite Four. Smashed right through them. The rest of the my team were all just slaves to the HM.

Fucking Charizardd the game.

It took me forever to get past Misty, and for some reason I kept ending up back at Pallet Town whenever I lost to her.

When I was a dumb kid playing Pokemon Red, I thought that Mr. Mime would evolve into Scyther since they were right next to each other in the pokedex. I leveled Mr. Mime to 60 before I gave up. He ended up saving the team during the final battle.
My magnificence knows no bounds.

If it's any consolation probably only ten other people ever leveled a Mr. Mime that high

Started with Yellow. My first time through, I had a Pidgeotto before I left the Viridian Forest because I didn't realize I just had to keep walking to get to Pewter City, lol. Had a Pidgeot by the time I was in Vermillion City and then I dropped my Gameboy and destroyed my save.

Started over and ended up having Blastoise be my most ridiculously overleveled Pokemon with Pikachu, Venusaur, and Charizard just kind of sitting around being pointless. Blastoise was, like, level 80 when I was at the Elite Four, lol.

Pretty sure I built a balanced team. My main draw to Pokemon was the wide variety of critters.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.

And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame
I had a super powerful charizard, but I had a couple of other powerful ones to help him out, like pigeotto and gyaridos.

(I've probably spelt their names completely wrong, btw)

I didn't understand it to well at the time, so I just picked the recommended starter (Bulbasaur) and mained him until I could start catching legendaries.

Post #11 was unavailable or deleted.
God damnit, I looked it up and somewhere along the line "spelt" became alright, and was added as a past-tense of spell, which was incorrect.

What's next, "I seen" will be an acceptable variant of "I saw" because so many people use the wrong word?

Blastoise solos
My first game was Pokemon Yellow and yes..

With the Pikachu man it kind of sucked
Only ever used charizard and just caught the highest available level Pokemon and fed them rare candy.

I had a strong Charizard.

Balanced team, but with my Blastoise being slightly higher than the rest. I think the rest of my team was Fearow, Nidoking, Hitmonlee, Gengar and Starmie.

Level 100 Pidgeot

Quick Attack
A Charizard with a bunch of HM moves and a Kadabra that never got to evolve into Alakazam
I built a bananced team at first until I realized how powerful a Mankey/primeape was, ended up using that one almost exclusively up to the 3rd gym, he was in his 40's before I boxed him to work on the rest of my team, which were in their teens.
People are prone to dying.
I used Charizard my first time playing it. I taught it Fire Blast over Flamethrower on accident, and I ran into PP troubles in the Elite 4. I kept losing to Blue's Rhydon because all I had was Cut by the time I got to him.

I was really sad.

The second time I played it, I had Blastoise AND Zapdos. The Elite 4 was not a problem, beat them first run thru. That game was legendary. I had pretty much every "cool" mon at level 50+ for Pokemon Stadium.

But I missed Charizard :(

Something in between.

I used other Pokemon, but it certainly wasn't a balanced team.
IIRC my final team in the Elite Four the first time I got to it was:

Pikachu
Blastoise
Venusaur
Charizard
Lapras
Articuno

lol

No idea what my final team was but my blastoise was massively over leveled when I beat the elite four. I think it was like lvl 92 and the rest of my pokemon were in their 50s.

Get rekt Elite Four
It's what's best for business.
Mewtwo, Dragonite, Gyarados, Venusaur, Machamp, Gengar.
Once again snatching defeat,
From the jaws of victory.
IIRC I somehow managed to beat the Elite Four with just a Dugtrio.
Did you guys trade for Mewtwo? Because you don't get him until after the E4. Or are you just talking about after the E4? Which wouldn't really matter since Pokemon Gen 1 didn't have a postgame. >_>

I caught a Kadabra and spammed Confusion, Psybeam, and Psychic to make the game roll over.
The n- word seems to be in Google's T9 swipe dictionary and I literally can not.

I tried to make a balanced team, but by the time I got to the Elite Four, my Charizard was level 60 while everyone else was in the 30s-40s.

Also Charizard's movepool was Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Fire Spin, and Slash

'Somewhat' balanced team, because Red/Blue wasn't my first Pokemon game so I somewhat knew to diversify.

Actually first Pokemon game(Crystal) though? Stomped everything with God-mode Typhlosion. Suicune kinda helped but not much.

i wish i could time travel back to when I was a kid after discovering the legit mew glitch. pokemon was such a massive thing in school and the mew legend was huge there but no-one had it. I would have been god.

but to answer the op question, I only ever used my starter and the legendaries lul.
I had a level 42 blastoise go against Lt. Surge cause I didn't know how to get Cut <_<

But I'm pretty sure I didn't play through the entire game on that file
The name is wackyteen* for a reason. Never doubt. *No longer teen
