Foreign Students are SKIPPING the United States and are going to CANADA!!

A Record number of International students are SKIPPING the united states and flooding Canada as they are avoiding Trump like the plague.

Some of Canada's biggest univeersities are beginning the year with a record number of foreign applicants and the challenge now is for the Canadian government to maintain that trend from competing countries and encourage the more talented pool to stay as permanent residents.

The University of Toronto was the top draw with 17,452 international students, making up 20% of the student body. That compares to just 7380 international students a decade ago.

The University of British Columbia was the second highest as students are filling up classrooms.

The spike was no doubt because of Trump's election win and scaring away foreigners from going to the states to study and work as the polictical climate has scared these students away.

There's even a record number of K-12 Students from international countries coming to Canada as many families are opening up their doors for these kids to come to the country to learn english and learn about north american culture. Foreign families pay almost 17,000 in tuition money to send their kids off to Canada which has been a boom for the economy.

The students come from more than 150 countries as Pam Ratner said it's been a "truly extraordinary" statistic and hasn't seen anything like this before

I've said for years now that a cap of 5% max on foreign enrollment to US citizen enrollment should be placed on all public colleges and universities. Our institutions should be teaching americans.

No, our universities should be training the best and brightest, period. I'm sorry your feelings are hurt over white americans not performing up to your expectations in that regard. I suppose they'll have to try harder.

Don't give me that liberal "best and brightest" bs. There is not one single reason why our universities should be filling up with foreigners instead of US citizens.

There is a reason: a large portion of Americans are poorly-educated and anti-intellectual.

Who cares? I'd consider myself more liberal and I could not give a fuck less about foreigners.
