I was under the impression for her story that God was showing her Hell in which case special rules would apply for her to able to see and know. If she was made to be subject to Hell, then I'd agree that she'd be in no position to pay attention to anyone's suffering but her own.

the exact quote is "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god"

The quote doesn't literally mean being rich automatically = hell. It's about people who love their money more than they love god.
