We took about half their land. That being said they took it from the natives before we were even on the horizon.

Yes, and those Spanish descendents in Mexico and all the other colonies around the world would have to give those lands back to the natives for this topic to get really interesting.

We bought Alaska.

I guess technically we bought the stuff we got from Mexico too but we negotiated the treaty in Mexico city and we invaded their country and seized their capital.

We beat 'em fair and square for it. Could've taken more, too. We were occupying Mexico City at the end of the war, after all.
