yes insofar as I would be free to focus on the things that do make me happy without worrying about my financial security and future
money doesn't make you happy, but it sure as shit keeps away the things that make you unhappy

I dont want a sig!
Not absolutely guarantee outright, but it was sure as hell help a ton. Sad feelings will still come and go, but my overall happiness levels would likely be pretty stable and positive for most of my life.

Guarantee happiness? absoutely not. It could facilitate a better lifestyle, but your happiness is entirely up to you.

I actually enjoy living a simple, minimalistic life (I have money but I don't like to spend), and plus too much money can corrupt you and make you a fucking asshole.

It sure would!
Trololol
Guarantee? No way.

I'm surprised at the results. I've never been extremely wealthy by any means, but I think that people are putting too much weight on it here. Personal relationships are so important to happiness.

I'd take a million with fantastic personal relationships over a billion but I become completely alone.
I may not go down in history, but I will go down on your sister.
Things that make me unhappy:

-having to work all the time
-having to go to school on days I don't work
-knowing that I'll be paying off my sudent loans for many years
-being able to live comfortably, but knowing that I'd be fucked if I had any less money
-never having free time to do things I actually enjoy

Ya, I'd say having a shit ton of money would absolutely make me happy.

I'm already happy just sitting alone in my room a majority of the time. The only time I'm really unhappy is at work, but I deal with it. Having all that money means no (unwanted) work and more nice things.
Imagine all the GameFAQs t-shirts you could buy, and all the extra karma. Pure happiness.

I don't think it would guarantee it but it would probably help a lot
THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!! THERES SO MUCH PEOPLE READING AND POSTING STUIPED STUFF
No, all of your friends and relationships would be fake and parasitic. I'd want enough wealth to have zero financial worries, afford a few luxury items, and that's it.

All my friends and relationships are already fake and parasitic, lol.

I'm gonna say yes, but to an extent I guess. Most of my stress/negative feelings come from feeling trapped in my current situation and uncertain about the future. Money would definitely take care of that and open up a lot more opportunities. The trick is to not get complacent/bored, you'll spiral into existential nihilism and a bunch of other depressing shit.

Pretty sure people are getting at it help....a lot actually.
Even in your example you made yourself a millionaire, instead of "living in a cardboard box with a fantastic personal relationship with another woman who lives in a cardboard box!!"

Money isnt everything, but it sure does help a lot in the happiness department. Id be more happy too if I could go out and not have to check my bank account before making a purchase.

Basically, yeah. I wish there was a tv show where I could prove this. Like they give me a few million dollars and I could just do what I want. Although money doesn't directly buy you happiness, it buys you freedom (within the law, although this isn't always the case lol), and freedom is generally what makes people happy. Not waking up early to get ready for work, not having to take care of the house, not having to worry about bills, etc.

So please, if anyone does know someone who can make my gameshow a reality, put in a good word for me. Only bad part is that since they're filming I would need to wear clothes all the time. I prefer to just wear boxes around the house, since Hawaii is hot and humid :<

Oh wait, but with the money I could just have central AC running all the time. Screw the electric bill :D

Says who? Just because you have money doesn't mean you have to get a whole bunch of new friends.

Hell, you dont even have to tell everyone you are wealthy.
Topic only says you are wealthy, not famous.

I personally wouldnt tell a soul Im wealthy.
I would be able to survive with my current friends. And I could take them on trips and stuff to spread the happiness.

In the past I'd say yes, but these days I realize that having more money gets rid of some problems, but creates others. Getting money will only bring you a little closer to true happiness. You still need to find a passion and have good relationships with others if you want to feel fulfilled.
