Is he?

Or should he awkwardly mumble his way through it so he's not seen as racist?

Had to cut a bit of grammar from the title to make it fit.

I mean shit there's a song a dude asked me the name of, and it's called "all my n****s" by e40

Wonder how many people would censor the name when telling them lol
He could be racist, him singing song lyrics don't make him one though.

Doesn't automatically make him racist, but if he's singing the song in public he should probably come up with an alternate word or something. That's what my friend who is big into karaoke does

I mean, what alternative word would you suggest using? Brotha, I guess?

Depends on the song and what fits best. He sings songs he knows, so there is ample time to come up with something ahead of time

Woah isn't that a little insensitive to Japanese?

It isn't any more insensitive for the person in question to sing that word in a song than it was for the artist to put that word in the song.

I am against anyone saying the word at all, but to claim it's insensitive for one group of people to sing it the way it was written just because they aren't black is stupid.

The word isn't racist unless you use it in a derogatory way.

Some black people don't like to hear others use it regardless. Best not to unless around friends.

It ALWAYS depends on how the word is said. Is it said with extra emphasis, said with the -er instead of the -a? Wouldn't be cool, at the very least.
Eminem did this a lot with Dr. Dre songs and people only seemed to have mild interest with it

I thought this was like, notoriously known to be the other way around? That he said it once before way early in his career and it came back to bite him later in the ass? Don't matter to me either way, just have heard different before.

And I really don't sing along with songs much at all, so nah, I don't do it. I personally think no one should use it, and it's a tad bit hypocritical if someone has an issue with it but will say it in a song, but this topic is tiring to have every week or so.

I also don't like that F-word that is a gay slur, but I'll be damned if I censor myself singing along to Money for Nothing. Saying words like that is only hypocritical in certain contexts. If I say I hate homophobia or racism and sing along to songs that are blatant hate, then I would be a hypocrite.

It gets a little weird when white people pick songs that maximize the number of n-words at karaoke and make sure to pause and emphasize each one.
