Interacting with people is fine in moderation but I can only really do it for 2-3 hours before getting exhausted.

It sounds like you're very introverted. I can generally spend more hours socializing before needing to recharge. It obviously depends on the type of interaction, but it's rare for me to be exhausted after less than 3 hours. Exceptions include very loud and stimulating places like hockey games and night clubs. I tend to have high energy for most types of social gatherings, especially ones where there are people I know. I'm so sociable and talkative in social circles that I'm often mistaken for extroverted. There's a community center where I'm generally well-liked that I regularly go to. People there are used to seeing me spend a lot of energy for up to 5 hours at a time. During a group outing of 12 hours, I surprised everyone when, after 8 hours, I needed silence. It took me 2 days of solitude to recharge after that.
I'm French speaking.

How many handshakes until you crack?

I mean, I'm fine with interacting with people and being social, and I don't want to do handshakes either. Shit's gross.

That was one of the things I liked about Covid - everybody stopped shaking hands for a while.

I have to interact with people all day at work. I'm fine with it. Also, my 3 mile walk home at the the of my work day is very peaceful.

I get "people'd out" after a while. It's not that I don't like people, it's just that I like tranquility more.

Even if it's a romantic partner. Eventually, I just want some time to myself.

I love people, I just don't have the energy for people for more than a few hours.
