im really annoyed that there wasn't the full set, like unreasonably mad.

which makes me more mad because that's a stupid fuckin thing to be mad about

also, they're each $20, but not all of them are worth that (really only the elephant and the t-rex seem worth that, by itself the t-rex is dope as shit and huge). the blue triceratops? its only function is it can shoot its tail cannons as a missile. so like actually, it's the cannons. the triceratops tail has two cannons on it, but in this toy, it's treating the cannons as a missile.

here's the toy, treating the two cannons as a weird forked missile. it is a spring loaded launcher in the tail base there

but that is the only action this $20 toy has, aside from moving its head up to turn into a foot.

meanwhile the saber toothed tiger has four individual movable legs, also a tail that shoots a missile but one that actually is how it worked, the head moves up to turn into a foot, the teeth are rotatable, and the front half of the entire unit can also swivel from side to side.

like idk, at least make the mouth on the triceratops movable or something damn. give it working treads or something. from what i can see, even the pterodactyl has more features than the triceratops

The pterodactyl was never pink. Its pilot is pink.

The pterodactyl was always white and red (mostly on the chest).

...but yeah. While the 'Zords often match the color scheme of their pilot, it isn't always the case. And sometimes you have cases like with the Dragonzord, where it has some green trim on it, but most of it is black, silver, and gold.

The same logic even goes back to Voltron. Where the princess is wearing pink but piloting the Blue Lion, Keith is the leader piloting the Black Lion but wearing red, Lance is piloting the Red Lion but wearing blue, and Sven wears black but pilots the Blue Lion before he either dies or fucks off (depending on what version you're watching). Pidge and Hunk color-coordinate properly though.

in fairness the red on top is obviously a completely different shade from the other red, which means it probably is actually pink it's just the quality is really shit since it's footage from the early 90s from japan using cameras that were bad in even the 80s

Ironically, they could easily do the Black => Green swap in the US version mainly because the Dairanger Lion isn't particularly or obviously green. It's another case where it's got green, gold, and black, so it doesn't necessarily make it extremely obvious as one over the others. So they just called it black instead of green. It's pretty much the exact reverse of the Dragonzord.

As for Pink, they just replaced her Zord with yet another red Zord. She basically goes from red and white, to red, to red and white. In spite of the fact that two of those were supposed to be Pink in Japan. If anything, the Japanese seem to be allergic to pink as a color in general - most of the Pink Ranger Zords are just white/red rather than actual pink. The Power Rangers show didn't get an actual pink Zord until Lost Galaxy.

Imagine if you were hella rich and could buy a good cnc machine, 3D scanner, and the software to make it all work together. You could take them apart, scan them, upload the scans to a modeling software, and make your own out of metal. Hell, I bet you could even rescale the models to make them larger and maybe hire an artist to make the pieces more detailed, then you'd have huge badass metal power ranger toys.

this is just preying on nostalgia

so i've been looking around, the pterodactyl seems to be the hardest one to find. even now on amazon it's the only place to find it for msrp unless you have it at your physical store, and the estimated delivery date for them is now november

apparently last month they had a replica dragon dagger, exclusive to just walmart, but they seem to have made very few of those, too, and now they're being scalped for much more than they're worth, which was just $20

often after a voice speaks, it'll be followed by a thwap sound, like you're hitting a punching bag with a stick

one is those ugly dumb as hell changing ones with the flippy faces

now, as far as i can tell, you cannot buy the normal ones individually. only the dumb ones are.

so, you go to their website, and they have two places you can purchase the 6 pack from. walmart, and target.

clicking walmart gives you what you'd expect, the normals.

The Power Rangers SNES game is actually really good beat'em up...

Ya see, I remember it being just ok and I did play it a lot back in the day, but I just watched a speedrun of it and the level design later on is fantastic

The OG MMPR Mega Drive game was a fighter like the VR Troopers game that came a year later. MMPR The Movie was a brawler, but you fight both Ivan Ooze's universe and the TV's UNiverse.

Make it one of the anniversary special episodes, where every Ranger from like 30+ years worth of the show all show up.

Wouldn't even have to license actor likeness rights because you just keep them all in their costumes and helmets. But you could net extra obsessive fan excitement by getting as many of the original actors in to voice themselves as you can. Most of them would probably be pretty cheap!

Bonus points if you let the player design their own Ranger suit with colors and accessories, and they become the leader of a new Ranger army, so generations of kids can finally live their dream of getting to be a Ranger and flirt with their favorite Pink Ranger.

yeah it's honestly pretty cheap, and since it's for kids it's a smaller version than what it'd normally be. it works, but it's just a smidge disappointing

i've decided to get the blaster, too, despite not really wanting it. if there is going to be a dragon zord, i'd like to make a display with the dino megazord and the blaster, next to the dragonzord next to the dagger

idgaf about the morpher, i checked it out at the store and it's cheap. like cheap cheap. the voices they gave these rangers aren't like, the actors voices or anything, it's just generic heroic voice type c shit

Damn this is reminding me of all the old Zords I used to have. Tigerzord was my favorite.

I also had Dragonzord, Serepentera, Falconzord, Ninja Megazord, Shogun Megazord, and both Zeo Megazords. Serpenterra was HUGE!!

I was a dumb fucking kid and got Tigerzord wet and his lights and sounds stopped working but he was so poseable I really did not care, I just made "PEW PEW PEW" noises when he was "shooting fireballs", it drove my grandparents way less crazy than constant toy sounds.
