I wish I could remember what it was but Google AI was trying to tell me I was searching for the wrong thing and what I was searching was impossible. Obviously it was getting confused.

No, because I never use or even look at them.

It's hard for me to hate something that, from my perspective, functionally doesn't even exist.

If I can't find the answer through forum posts, I read read the documentation. After that, I'll make a forum post.

I used AI once to solve a difficult math question that I was thinking about for 2 days. I figured it out, but I regret it and should have asked real people online instead of their corporate frankenstein proxy.

I dislike it when AI uses Reddit, Quora, and Youtube as a source.

It teaches you to look at multiple sources when you have a question.

I wouldn't mind if it were simply an evolution of the search engine we've been familiar with for decades, just giving more access to relevant sources. But the way it grabs any and all source indiscriminately and frames it as an objective answer is highly dangerous.
I do think if will get better over the years, but they shouldnt be showing it as the first answer now.

True. I've seen people just confidently copy-paste its summaries on this very site. Like, no, use the real source(s) please.

I'm gonna be honest, as much as I despise AI, and especially AI "research", I sometimes just concede and go with what it gives me if it's something trivial like "How many children does Rihanna have?" It doesn't effect me whether I'm right or wrong and it satisfies my curiosity, and it's probably right anyways. As long as we're copy/pasting the results with an asterisk, we should be on the same page.

It's depressing to know people who passionately criticize crytpocurrency, yet view generative AI so nonchalantly.
The AI is telling me Will Smith played Josuke in a JBA live action movie and I don't believe it.
