scary how much worse this country will be if trump croaks during his term

Stop with the nonsense that s*** ain't gonna happen.

You seem to have a thing for denying the bad things that the people you voted for said. Sure, odds are nobody will actually end up going to prison for donating to the president's opponents, but the fact remains that Trump has - in no uncertain terms - expressed a desire to make that happen. At best, that means government resources are going to be spent stopping him from acting out his temper tantrum. At worst, he's going to keep up this rhetoric (with a sprinkling of "the deep state is keeping me from bringing them to justice") until some of his cultists attack Democratic donors, since stochastic terrorism is kind of Trump's thing.

I think it's funny how in 2020 all the weirdo Trump sucking posters put on their normie hats, and now that he's won the election they're putting their red caps back on.

Or just started lurking instead. It's like they have no faith in their own positions unless there's a president who agrees with them (or at least says he does because doing so makes people like him more), which I guess just drives home the point that Trump is popular because he tells people what they want to hear.

He will lower your prices though

How exactly do you think that's going to happen? By forcing corporations to accept lower profit margins? Not likely for anyone, but least of all the overtly pro-corporation GOP. Tariffs on imported goods? Those will be passed on to consumers, and even if it does stimulate domestic manufacturing, domestic manufacturing is more expensive than outsourcing (hence companies outsource) and you'll still end up paying more. Deregulation? Most savings from that will be pocketed by corporations, so you'll be paying roughly the same amount for your box of Cheerios but now you won't know how much asbestos they contain. Somehow reducing inflation? Actual inflation hasn't been that high for a couple years now; the increases in prices you're seeing have largely been a matter of corporate greed (McDonalds, for example, has increased prices by upwards of 100% during a period when inflation only increased prices by 20-30%) and chasing pandemic highs.

The cost of living crisis is a global matter, not one that any president of the US has caused or can readily control without going much further to rein in the free market and/or establish UBI than most communism-fearing Americans would accept. Trump's promises to make things cheaper have very little basis in reality, instead preying on people's belief that things being expensive is primarily due to inflation caused by Biden and not a combination of opportunistic corporate greed and the economic fallout of the worst public health crisis in a century.
