I never understood the hatred for Big. He has precisely four levels in the game, none of which are difficult, and the fishing minigame is pretty straightforward if all you're trying to do is clear the game (his A-ranks are a nuisance if you dislike the fishing minigame, but that's only required for people going for 100% completion [which, in the original, didn't even give you anything as a reward]).
I get why people might have disliked the character and his gameplay, but the complaining was ridiculously over the top. Some people were making it seem like his fishing levels were half the game when they were actually the shortest of the six main campaigns other than Amy's.
Kill 1 man: You are a murderer. Kill 10 men: You are a monster.
Kill 100 men: You are a hero. Kill 10,000 men, you are a conqueror!
