Na, gotta get to my wife after I get back from work. It'll be my first time filing while married

Yes, a couple days ago.
Donald J. Trump--proof against government intelligence.
No. Usually I'm quick about it but this year not only do I owe but I actually have to amend my previous two returns and pay even more. So I'm being slow about it.
What is the equivalent of taking a shower in an online community?
Nope. It wasn't until yesterday that I got the last investment form I needed. I'll probably do it this weekend.

I'm still waiting for the 1099-INT from the bank. I opened a couple CDs last year and made enough interest to be reportable.

I'm closing out my CDs and transferring my money into Treasury Bills. They pay better interest and only have a 4 week minimum term instead of 6 months like the CDs. That means I can get my money back in a month if I need it. They also have a $100 minimum, so anybody can start saving money. You can buy them directly from the government at https://www.treasurydirect.gov/

no, need to decide how I want to do it

last year I paid like 400 for an "expat" service but I don't really want to pay that again, and my situation is less complicated (that year I had mixed US and UK income, bunch of stock stuff, last year it's boring)

so might just file myself? I have extra time and won't owe anything but yeah... need to do that

why is the US the only country (ok I think there's one other obscure country) that does this to non residents T-T
kriem
No, I usually wait until the weekend they are due. Last year I got a refund for the first time since Trump took office, and I might actually get one this year. But it probably won't be much. Like $50 at the most.

Better then owing $400 the previous year...

Filed, and getting a decent amount back. In the past years, I'd put whatever return towards X, Y, or Z that I wanted to buy, but now it's like... The thing I want to buy might be close to 500 times as much as I'm receiving, so only 499 years to go until I can afford the one thing. Living the American dream...

Just filed, also learned that for efiling, you must file your Federal and State with the same Filing service...
F'ed up and Filed with FreeFileable, but they only do Feds...now had to mail in my State, so if I get a refund gotta wait for who knows how long...
Yeah, I did mine earlier. I'm going to sock some money in an Roth IRA and use other to pay bills. No fun this year.

I actually have a local tax guy file the work. Good guy and affordable price.
