I mean, I think either are far better than the other options. Just curious which you prefer.

That would probably make the most sense overall from a certain logistical standpoint, but nations want the prestige of hosting the Olympics and it's a worldwide thing.
Do they? Seems like less and less places even try to bid b/c they realize even in good times, it's a money-loser.
I think it's the IOC that opposes just doing it in Greece every time. Then they don't get wined and dined and bribed by the countries bidding. Also the reason I suspect that the options that involve forfeiting a later year either to Japan or via sliding everything back isn't even on the table.
