@ParanoidObsessive I know you have the strongest opinions on this game out of everyone here in the board, so I wanna hear your thoughts.

I've also pointed out in the past that I don't respond to mentions, because I just auto-delete any notifications without reading them. If the other Dragon Age topic on the board right now hadn't listed this as a similar topic in the "More Topics" section, I would have missed it.

(If someone wants to call my attention to something or ask a question, PMs are your best bet. Or just pop into the Geek topic and leave a link.)

But honestly, you probably don't want my opinion - because my opinion would be to stop playing the game entirely, because nothing but disappointment lies before you. DA:I is a bad game, and the few shining pearls that exist in it aren't really worth the slog you have to make to find them.

But if I had to pick a "best romance waifu" for the game, I'd probably pick Josephine. Actually, I'd pick Cullen because I play female 90% of the time these days, and he's probably the best straight/bi female option (and it can be really moving if you're playing a mage, AND if your Warden in DA:O was also a mage), but you're a male so he's out.

I'm rarely a fan of gay male romances in games (mostly because I think they're poorly done most of the time, or don't really resonate with me), so I'd skip Dorian (who's a bit too camp for my tastes regardless) and Iron Bull (who's mostly only fun for the humor value rather than out of actual emotion). That really only leaves Josephine and Cassandra, and I don't really like Cassandra's romance because it sort of feels to me like she'd have worked better as a lesbian romance (and in the same vein, I feel like Sera should have been straight).

Granted, a potential problem with Josephine is if you think she doesn't necessarily look all that attractive (whether you feel like blaming it on a BioWare SJW agenda deliberately making females less attractive or because the graphics in general kind of suck in the game), but that's a problem most of the NPCs (especially the romanceable ones) also have. But she's got a bubbly personality and lacks a lot of the WOMG ANGST most of the other relationships have, and her storyline is probably the most interesting, so she's pretty enjoyable. She was pretty much my default romance option when I wasn't chasing Cullen or trying to get my Dalish to hook up with Solas (in the same way Leliana was pretty much my default fallback choice in DA:O for any Warden who wasn't going after Alistair, who was absolutely best waifu in that game).

But most of the romances in DA:I general are kind of terrible. Meh at best and outright bleh at worst. With the added complication that any relationship with Solas is doomed to automatic tragedy (though that might butter your bread if you're into that sort of thing, and if you plan to play the DLC), and the Iron Bull relationship kind of gets shat on by the DLC.

This so hard:
