If they asked me to get off I would have done so without a fight because usually Airlines when they have to reschedule your flight you are given a pretty sweet hotel to stay in for the night. Bump you up to first class the next flight etc. etc.
I'd say if I was sure it'd result in me getting money like him yes I would have put up the fight like him.
