Why is it still socially acceptable for employers to pay their restaurant employees 2 bucks an hour? You pay for a service, and you get that service. I go to the grocery store and i pay for the items I bought, I dont tip the cashier. I get a package from fedex, I don't tip the deliveryman. Same goes for the postman, or the dog groomer, or the pizza deliveryman (if they charge a delivery fee). Pizza guys eat up a lot of their gas and car maintenance costs, and don't get compensated for it most times, so that makes sense, but it still sucks and should be fixed.

But why am I tipping someone for bringing me food out from a kitchen that is all of 50 feet from the table? And why is it based off how much I spent? A filet mignon doesn't take anymore effort to take from the kitchen to my table than a grilled cheese sandwich.

This type of policy doesn't make any sense, and in many countries simply doesn't exist. In Australia, they get paid a real wage, and no tipping fetish culture exists. The world didnt end, food prices arent 100% more, like some would argue.
