not major vectors sure, but with the limited time and numbers of the studies mean we can't truly be sure of the total consequences. since the children are interacting heavily with adults who more easily spread COVID-19 it does mean that spread can happen. looks like some research says that the transmission from child to adult is half of adult to adult.
I think this might be one of those "stopped clock" moments for the Trump administration. I think the scientific evidence suggests that opening the schools carefully and intelligently would not cause many new cases. I think this is a good idea, if done right.

Unfortunately the current administration gives us zero confidence that it will be done right. This will probably end up being like the China travel ban. Every time they come up with an idea that is actually good, they completely fuck it up in the execution. I think America may wind up becoming the only country to have a major spike in infections from reopening schools.
