I've always enjoyed learning the neutral game more than being part of the 'cool' crowd that posts ToD combos that I'll have opportunity to use like 1/50 of the time.
My combos are so fucking basic but I don't care right now.
I also recently switched to Krillin, Piccolo, and SS1 Goku.
I wish Krillins Senzu thing was more consistent/easy to manipulate but Krillin is surprisingly fun and has fun mixup zoning options
