This is something Ive had to actually consider recently.
My wife had to have cancer surgery for what turned out to be stage 3, and its been a massive roller coaster in terms of her long-term prognosis and whether or not wed be playing whack-a-mole with mets afterwards.
Weve known each other for 18 years, and have been together for most of that (give or take a hiatus of two years in the middle).
Shes the love of my life, and I know Id survive without her (for the kids, if nothing else), but its something I really dont want to think about.
