No. It gets precisely the right amount of hate. It's a Troi heavy episode, but worse than that, it's a Troi romance episode. At no time are you really invested in Troi's fling of the week, because you know it's just that. And while we're on the subject, this is supposed to be the flagship of the Federation. Yet in this one season, Riker, Troi, and Picard can't keep it in their pants and violate every single principle they're supposed to uphold. This isn't a cargo ship on shore leave, it's the top brass of Starfleet's flagship. The whole episode is full of recycled plots and idea that had been beaten to death (and will continue to be beaten to death throughout the franchise's run.)
