Nah, that stuff just happens. I've gotten gay slurs hurled at me by people in passing cars before at college, it's just how bigoted frat boys get their jollies.

Yep. That I agree. It didn't really make me all that upset. I'm more confused than anything. I'm rather curious of why they sped off afterwards as if they committed a robbery. Because calling someone a racial slur is worth possibly getting a ticket or hitting someone as they're walking across the street?
Same thing happens when I get called a slur or whatever else. They did it just to be an asshole, no other reason. They know if they stuck around they'd have to deal with some form of consequence, whether that be getting into a fight, getting ridiculed or scolded, or worst case getting the cops called on them. They'd rather scream a slur, get some sort of reaction from you, and then bolt. They're basically real life trolls.
Well, my reaction was basically just "huh"? I hope that will be sufficient for them. I wouldn't even fight them if they said it to my face. I would just keep walking. The guy did it was just some white kid, probably around the same age as me.
