I just finished season 2 and assumed this was a cliffhanger set-up for season 3... But there is no fucking season 3. The show is done and over.

This is bullshit, I don't want to watch DCU movies to get the ending of this story. Damn, what a bummer

Gunn did say the characters will be back, probably under a different show name. The status quo has been changed.

Superman did not even remotely flop

Theyre saying that because of the paramount acquisition. But even if theyre acquired I dont think that necessarily means a creative changeup.

Superman is a mostly enjoyable movie with a few really stupid AF scenes

It lost something like 40 to 50 million dollars, that is absolutely a flop.

While I think the recent Superman movie had the right tone, aesthetic, and overall message for Superman, succeeding where Man of Steel was hopeless despair, I can't help but feel it didn't surpass Man of Steel in EVERY way.

The relationship with the Kents is done so much more in-depth and emotionally in Man of Steel. In Superman 2025, we get one scene of folks from Kansas acting like they're from the Deep South or something? Did anyone do research there?

The shots of Superman in the clouds or being in the crowd with hands reaching towards him on Day of the Dead in Man of Steel are beautiful. The flight scenes, and the fight scenes, carry so much more impact than what we got with Gunn.

Hopefully we get something that combines the best of both next time.

I also just wanted to say the scene where Mr. Terrific is like "I know tech guys. There's no way they're lying, that message is real" is just so... dumb? Like wtf? They're infallible? They can translate an alien language instantly? How do they know this alien transmission without a doubt isn't tampered with?

I think it could've just worked if they rolled with Superman not knowing if it was real or false, but realizing he had to forge his own path regardless.

I also think trying to portray wanting many wives as morally wrong was kind of weak. Out of all the ways to show Supes parents are evil, that's what you went with? Well, at least the conquest part was nefarious. But other than that, there are so many ways to show evilness.

Also, the music that played during Mr. Terrific's fight scene was just obnoxious.

Other than that though, solid film. It was nice seeing Superman getting mad about imminent death with that war or whatnot. Made me feel less insane in this world. But I wonder if this was the right way to portray Superman and Lois' relationship.

Like, on one hand, him yelling with Lois and her just taking it shows trust between them. But also, it does kinda make Superman look like a guy who yells at women.

That's mostly because Snyder is a man who was born to do conceptual/Impressionist photography but inexplicably insists on making films.

Like, the guy is A tier at framing a still shot, and garbage-to-middling at basically every other part of direction.
