I beat the game once with the saw spear so far. It seems like most weapons outside of the starting 3 are kind of hard to get/ are found far into the game.

Try a Bloodtinge/Skill build. Chikage and Rakuyo are really fun weapons, and once you get to the DLC try out the Bloodletter. Probably my favorite 3 weapons in the game.

Despite 2 playthroughs I have yet to try the pizza cutter, thats probably gonna be my next build. Mostly because I dont really use strength in FromSoft games.

rakuyo is just as far into the dlc as the blodletter but sure they are cool, I did simon bow blade with bloodtinge and it was really cool down charged R2 shots to ebrietas head.

Builds? Not really, BB doesn't have the build depth for anything particularly interesting.

Weapons? Most of them are worth giving some attention to, especially the DLC ones (doubly so for the DLC ones you can get without having to get past Ludwig because you can reasonably get them a lot earlier than the others). There's also the beast claws in the Chalice Dungeons, those were pretty alright.

My favorite weapons in no order are the Beast Cutter (a whip but STR), Chikage (the only katana moveset FROM has made that I actually like), and the Holy Moonlight Sword. My favorite weapon in the game is the Bloodletter when it's transformed, it just feels nice to swing around.

Kirkhammer for bonks.

Whirligig for the win. Not sure if its bloodtinge but its overpowered as fuck.

yea my bad, forgot rakuyo was that far ahead, maybe I got it mixed up with something else

Bloodtinge Chikage/Bloodletter.

Bloodtinge is really cool, nothing resists it and its the only build to really power up guns. You can get some good gems from chalice dungeons but you kinda have to speedrun to cainhurst to get the chikage and evelyn and those will carry you to the end of the game.
