Did anyone actually think Luigi was a professional? There is a world of difference btwn point blank and what this guy did.

I will say, to be fair, it does seem like whoever did this must have had extensive training to pull this sort of assassination off.

On the other hand, I can still remember all the media discussion about the genius and clear and apparent military training the DC Sniper must have had in order to pull off these amazing shots without being discovered until it turned out to be two guys shooting out of the trunk of a car.

Part of my brain is searching for some simpler, dumber answer as to the hows and whys of the whole thing.

I think it's safe to say, whoever did this had a plan. They may have been planning it for some time.

Shot was from 130 metres, that's really not far.

I have no idea who the shooter was, or what military training if any they might have had, but the idea that this is a long shot is just wrong.

From prone position, shooting at a still, man sized target at that range with a military rifle is basically a guaranteed hit. Even with iron sights, and minimal training/practice.

From my view of the shooting the security locked decent but it didnt cover all its bases. It's why someone so hated like him shouldn't do open air trolling sessions

This. We can't trust Trump's DOJ/FBI. Don't be surprised if the "shooter" is revealed to be part of a marginalized group that Republicans demonize (trans, immigrant, etc). The suspect will conveniently "take their own life" before being caught, so no trial or questions can be asked.

people were absolutely saying the UHC shooter was a professional hit man. That sounds absurd in retrospect for the same reason it will sound absurd about this shooter once they've caught them in the next 3 days.

We don't know anything about this guy, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had been a sniper in the armed forces. If he hadn't been trained on the job, he is just self taught and insanely good. Or I guess he could have just gotten insanely lucky.

I'm definitely more inclined to believe this shooter knew what he was doing just from the distance and the single shot, but maybe he did just get lucky

the older guy was a trained sharpshooter from the us military and spent a lot of time training the younger guy to pull off the shots he did. firing from the trunk like that was scary intelligent, a mobile sniper base that hid their activities and let them get away.

there are a lot of ex-military trained sharpshooters in this country.

I looked up to see if there are any leads and apparently there are some. They found the gun, they found palm and shoe imprints, and supposedly investigators even have video footage of the shooter.

I also need to note people are searching for rational motives in the age of Q-anon. There's a whole paranoid crazy nonsense underground that Charlie Kirk was secretly anti-white

You're assuming they actually get caught. There's a decent chance this person knew what they were doing and had a plan. Also it takes a lot of skill to hit that shot from 200 yards away.

that's farther than a football field end zone to end zone. Its definitely not as easy as you make it seem

Yeah the shot was 200 yards iirc. There are plenty of hunters and just people trained enough in firearms to make that shot.

The has to be a professional or ex military with that rational alone doesn't hold that much water imo.

I think people are jumping to conclusions with the "he was a professional" narrative.

*I* could make a shot from 100+ metres away, and I've never fired a gun before - all it takes is being sufficiently lucky, because you're dealing with a sample size of one. Whoever the murderer is *could* be a professional, sure, and it's fair to say he *likely* knew his way around a weapon... but him successfully making a single shot is insufficient evidence to say that he's definitely a professional. If you were dealing with a serial killer who had made multiple shots at that range, then yes, you've got much stronger evidence to go off of regarding his skill level; but this very easily could have just been a kid who got lucky.
