Would this be a better name than "Jurassic Park"?

Technically, the major dinosaurs in Jurassic Park (such as the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Triceratops) came from the Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic, not the previous Jurassic period....

No. Cretaceous is more difficult to spell and sound out if you don't already know how to pronounce it. Mesozoic Park sounds dumb, too and has too many syllables.

Hammond should have put you in charge of marketing.

No. Because part of the logic behind the name is that Hammond is a businessman and not a scientist. He doesn't know enough to know (or care) why the name is "wrong", so he picks the catchier name.

The fact that he's got a massive blind-spot for the science is part of what sets everything up to fail.

Oh, okay. I haven't actually watched the movies since I was a kid and didn't pay much attention to the plot other that "Woah, big disonaurs!" so the human element was completely ignored by me.

You should read the book.

Aside from being a much better story, Hammond is also a huge piece of shit there. The movie kind of turns him into this kindly old man who just wants to make the world a happy place where people can look at dinosaurs, but the book emphasizes just how mercenary he actually is. It's ALL about money.

The funny part is, he's completely full of shit.

Even in the movie it's kind of implied that Nedry sells out because Hammond doesn't pay him enough, but in the book it's explicitly spelled out that they kind of fuck Nedry over, and him making the deal is almost less about the money and more about revenge. Hammond, for all that he's rich and investing millions into the park, is also a cheap motherfucker more than willing to cut every corner he can (which again, is part of what sets the park up to fail).
