I was mistaken about ages as I said right before your post but also this law specifically only applies to 18 year olds who are still in high school, so once they graduate it becomes the felony as I read it

I'm just gonna delete my first post because no, I don't think high school seniors should be dating middle schoolers. I was mistakenly thinking that 13 is the age kids start high school.

The law itself should probably raise the younger age to 14 or 15 but I do agree with the general concept of all high school seniors being subject to the same laws

Dude I was saying 16-18 and and you're just continuing on 14 exclusively. Why did 18 get lowered on the age range instead of maybe creeping up to 15 or something

I'm going to reiterate that in my high school career I saw no senior date a freshman and if that happened I'm confident they would have gotten get throttled like the freaks they are.

this doesn't strike me as "defending pedophilia" to me because IMO everyone in high school is a child, and I think it's fair for the law to treat them as such. I view this as: teenagers who are peers in classes together are going to form relationships whether we want them to or not, and I'm opposed to sending them to prison and marking them for life for that.
