You know with all the early-movie intentional call-outs to Latveria (like how they show there's no representatives from Latveria are there during Sue's speech to their equivalent of the UN), I figured the plot line would be that Latveria/Doom are the ones that intentionally sabotage the teleportation bridges.

Pikachuchupika posted...
Either that or they'll do it in Spider-Man Brand New day.

With what they've said about BND I doubt it.

Although BND is the last movie before Doomsday so who the fuck knows at this point lol

E: Also BND is literally the next movie as well jfc. So we're only one single movie away from Doomsday and that movie is still like a year and a half from releasing. In Phase 3 they went from Ragnarok to Black Panther to Infinity War in 6 months.

They're overcorrecting the MCU glut that led to the fatigue so they've been drastically scaling back releases.

Now that I had some time to mull over it, they're probably just going to explain how they ended up in the main universe in Doomsday itself.

They've basically already laid the groundwork for it with the Thunderbolts post credit and this post credit. Doom most likely takes Frnaklin to get and they end up in 616 looking for him

Mulling over the movie again. The Thing and Human Torch didnt really have an arc. The Thing is my favorite of the 4 (he was my favorite Marvel character when I was like 5 actually lol) so it kinda bums me out that his whole thing was basically just getting the courage to talk to Natasha Lyonne lol could have emphasized his whole struggle with his appearance bit.

Human Torch didn't really have anything going on. Trying to flirt with Silver Surfer and like a blip of a moment of him having some kind of "prove yourself" type beat. The whole suit conversation felt really dumb and unnecessary. Imo a pretty bad use of the ensemble cast compared to other Marvel movies.

Thought it was good, but a bit anti climactic. Also not sure if Pascal, while a good actor, was really the best choice for Richards.

My girlfriend watched without knowing of anyone minus winter soldier. She has it as one of her favorite, if not overall favorite marvel movies. They are explained well enough, so don't let that stop you.

Honestly all you need to know is this:

Valentina (a shady nick fury) has been contacting shady people. There's John Walker, a super soldier that's too flawed to be Captain America despite getting a chance to be. Ghost who can phase through walls. Taskmaster who wears a mask, face is disfigured and can fight good. Red guardian is the Russian Captain America who is a super soldier and adopted dad of Yelena. Yelena is a black widow

Done, now go watch it
I've already watched it and enjoyed it. Its just I haven't kept up with stuff so I dont remember who is who and im sure I missed a ton of references.

Johnny didnt really have an arc per se but his contribution was important. Learning SSs language and identity and past and confronting her with it basically turned her around and she sacrificed herself to save everyone

I think with Johnny at least they wanted to separate him from the previous versions, at least Evans I haven't seen Michael B. Jordan's version, so they made him obsessed with space (which is where the suit obsession comes in) and somewhat smart. Those two tied into him figuring out the Surfer's language and being able to confront her. I will admit Thing was kind of just there though

It definitely felt like The Thing was just 'there'. The whole movie it felt like there were just bits cut out from the overall story, and he just happened to be affected the most, or something like that.

People clapped when the movie was over in my theater though, so I guess some people really enjoyed it.

I liked seeing a F4 movie where Thing wasn't like "oh I'm so ugly wah" especially bcuz he's kinda cute in this movie, he definitely wasn't center stage but his deal felt more like a quiet frustration that he can't "turn The Thing off". So he can't go incognito for a date or anything. But honestly I'm not sure if he and Johnny were even quite intended to "have arcs", they were supporting Reed & Sue at an insane point in their lives and that's ok.

She did, but youre also talking about a woman with powers only for 4 years against an almost god like being alive for billions of years destroying millions of planets and never once being stopped.
yet she could hold, restrain and push him back blocks on her own while hes fighting to stop it.
Sue was strong enough to block Galactus energy atks even in the comics. Along with other insane power feats as well. So pushing him over under their circumstances isnt that far fetched.

As for the movie I loved it. The characters had great chemistry and there were many small moments to showcase it you dont normally get in most movies nowadays. Yet the pacing still felt good despite that.

The ending though was a little anti climatic I must admit. And is one of those instances where the comic book ending would have made far more sense. But maybe not for setting up Franklin and doomsday I suppose.

Are the fantastic four just so much stronger than other teams?

X men have had how many ever members, avengers rotate around but the f4 can seemingly get it done with 4 every time. From world ending events to mutant apes.

Eh Reed Richards is written to basically have super computer brain that could solve any issues.

I'm sure he would figure out Loki and Ultron easily but Thanos with infinity stones might be too much.

She never blocked any of Galactus' attacks in the original story, it was only the Punisher android that she used her shield to defend from during those issues.

I thought the movie was really good. My main disappointment was Thing didn't get enough to do action wise. I was also expecting the end to tie into Thunderbolts but I guess we have to wait for Doomsday.

Not really a psyche out I guess. Its more they get a weapon from Galactus ship that can destroy a universe and it scares Galactus away.
like it maybe would have been anticlimactic for many .

on his return Reed then used a fake copy of the weapon to scare him off again

It was okay. CGI was still pretty bad in some scenes like with Franklin when he was born. I liked The Silver Surfer. Its kind of hard to mess that character up. Hopefully, we see her again at some point.

I liked the design of Galactus. For an all powerful cosmic being, it wasnt portrayed well in the last act of the movie when he arrived on Earth. I dont the cast of the Fantastic Four did a bad job. Theyre all good but I blame the writing. I wasnt feeling the team at all.

Highlight of the movie was meeting Galactus for the first time and escaping from The Silver Surfer in space.

He wanted Franklin so he came down to get him himself. Presumably, nobody is there to control the ship so its just sitting outside earth. Don't know why he didn't just beam Franklin up like he did with the surfer, but if he did that than the movie would have no climax

It was good in my opinion and made sense in context.

The F4 are active heroes for 4 years by the movies start. The silver surfer arrives and warns earth. The F4 prep the rocket, launch, meet Galactus, escape, have Richard and travel back. That entire trip lasted 1 month. After returning they spend the next year preparing for Galactus along with Jonny deciphering the surfers language.

At the end of the movie 4 more years pass into the post credits scene.
