Witch Watch has a cute witch who can transform into a cat. I think that's the only cat in any anime I'm watching right now. EDIT: Wait, those two white-haired kids who are in Naofumi's party in Shield Hero now might be from some cat-like demi-human race. They kind of remind me of tigers based on their ears, but I'm not totally sure.

Anyways, speaking of Witch Watch, the most recent dubbed episode was hilarious.

No, the anime you're thinking of with that premise involved a guy turning into a dog and being owned by their crush. Simple mistake. That would be the absolute abomination known as My Life as Inukai-san's Dog.

There was a different anime where a guy got turned into a cat and then doted on by various women, but it had a different overall premise. That would be Beheneko, which, while still not exactly a good anime, is far better than the bottom-of-the-barrel slop that Inukai-san was.

An anime YouTuber I watch put Inukai-san in his bottom 10 worst anime that he's ever watched, just worse than Seven Deadly Frames (of animation) but just better than a literal propaganda anime made by an actual cult.

Princession Orchestra keeps breaking out new little ideas that I'm surprised Pretty Cure has never done before after 20+ years, and it amuses me every time. I've never seen a villain in a magical girl anime bluff a monster of the week because he didn't have a victim of the week to take power from.

First off, do your ears a favor and watch the English dub, because Asta's Japanese voice is nails-on-a-chalkboard awful. I've heard people say he got "better" (or less awful) later on in the show, but I have no idea how long that takes because I switched to the dub long before that. Black Clover's dub is also really good all around, not just because it has a much better Asta.

And secondly, what JAKAS said is also true: Black Clover starts pretty slow. I personally started really enjoying it during the dungeon exploration arc in the teens, but I've heard some people say they didn't really get into it until the Eye of the Midnight Sun first shows up in the early 30's. Most people who make it to the point where they start really enjoying Black Clover generally agree that it stays that good or gets better for basically the whole rest of the way. It's whether you can get past the slow start to make it to that point that's the issue.

Finally caught up on Princession including this week's episode. Band Snatch is hilarious. As are the main 3.

Still have a crapton of Idol Precures to catch up on, but I did make it far enough to appreciate how gay Uta is for Zukyoon

Meanwhile Necronomico is getting good. It's a shame dipshit anime fans have review bombed the show for something that wasn't its fault. They are so exhausting.

One difficulty here is that Asta is a very shouty kind of character to begin with.

True, Asta's just a shouty character in general. He does it less frequently later in the series, but still a fair bit. My point is that his English voice is much, much less grating on the ears than his Japanese voice.

Feels like almost every week now this show makes me think "God, I wish that were me." at least once, often multiple times.

Finished the second season of Hajime no Ippo (New Challenger). I watched the original season years ago and had the later seasons on my list for awhile. Though I watched the first season and the movie dubbed, the later seasons were never dubbed. At least this one wasn't.

But I was reminded of why I love the series big time when I binged the last 6 or 7 episodes in one sitting. The world title match between Takamura and that scum bucket Hawks was so damn hype, so jaw dropping, so insane. Not gonna lie, I can't remember the last time I cheered and shouted from an anime. That fight was amazing. the champion is one of the biggest scumbags in recent memory and was an absolute monster and wild animal in the ring. Seeing the boy Takamura finally flatten him was cathartic.

Such a great series.

I just saw someone on Reddit refer to Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze as "basically a reverse harem but you reverse the genders". At first, I thought that sounded fucking stupid, because isn't that just a regular harem? But then I thought about it more, and it actually makes sense. Yu has the "moe through helplessness" factor that's common with female protagonists in reverse harem anime despite being a guy, and the Mikadono sisters have personalities and attitudes that are closer to male characters in reverse harem anime than female characters in traditional harem anime.

I don't think I've ever seen another harem anime quite like this, but I like it so far.

This song is catchy as hell, but I hate playing it in the D4DJ mobile game. At that part when the song slows down, the notes moving along the screen also suddenly slow down, then they suddenly speed up to faster than the rest of the song before returning back to normal soon after that. It's so fucked up. That song took me so many tries to full combo on Hard, and I can't even clear it at all on Expert, much less hope to ever full combo it.

Has anyone here watched a recent anime on Netflix called Leviathan? My brother recently recommended it to me.

It batch dropped this season and somehow slipped under my radar. Apparently, it's a rare anime that's an adaptation of western novels (specifically a trilogy of books written by an American writer, the 1st of which the anime is named after) rather than a Japanese manga or light novel. Between that, the synopsis, the setting, and how good Studio Orange anime tend to look, I'm actually intrigued. Has anyone here seen it?

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it. Haven't got around to watching the rest yet.

I did watch Takopi's Original Sin over the weekend. I enjoyed it quite a lot.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Leviathan today. Decided to watch the dub because the show takes place in Europe... I did not expect Dylan/Deryn to be Scottish, and the dub actually gave her a proper Scottish accent too. I don't think I've ever heard one of those in an anime before, so that was a very pleasant surprise. Aside from Netflix not dubbing a scene where there was singing (I hate when they do this!) this dub sounds great. As for the show itself, the main characters and world-building are already really interesting so far. Too early to tell on the story though.
