Like, I can see why people like it. Ive tried like, four different times to play this because Im a big fan of roguelikes/lites but after putting down the first 5 rooms and realizing I have 40 more before Im through the first day, or whatever it is, Im already bored. It seems like an interesting game, its just not for me. --- You gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed? ... Copied to Clipboard!

There are people I respect who like it a lot so I won't say there's not a there there. However, I came to feel like the game was wasting my time. I got tired of treking to the outdoor room and all the way back to the main room with your slow ass run speed. I got tired of picking up the gems in each room etc. I got tired of managing a Notepad file with a shitton of disparate notes about every single room type. I got tired of following the best practices of how to build out the manor, including using dead ends early at say the corners/walls of early ranks, only to still get RNG fucked because although I built to having a lot of rooms, I got several bad draws + more locked doors than keys + keycard door(s). And the characters who I was being dripfed about in the pickups and letters just weren't super compelling to me. --- https://imgur.com/gallery/dXDmJHw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75GL-BYZFfY ... There's not really a story as much as there's a lot of different information you can learn about the world which you can piece together. There's quite a bit of geopolitics. There's a lot of puzzles after reaching room 46 and some of them can be quite tedious as it requires you to really put a lot of pieces together which you often find throughout specific rooms. I think I've done most of the puzzles and I still feel there's a few more things I could do, but it's not really worth effort. If I do revisit the game, it would be to do the last remaining achievements which is to reach room 46 in 1 day and reach room 46 in 1 hour. --- http://i.imgur.com/BBcZDLJ.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

There's just like, no real sense of progression. You could play for hours and not be any closer than if you played for a minute. It's not like a logic puzzle, or a shapes puzzle, or a sequential puzzle. There's nothing central where you can try stuff, see if you're off or not, understand more, get better. It's a guess shit puzzle. My only goal was to get to the Antechamber. And I got to it. But god knows how I actually get in it. I don't even want to find out. --- @ me ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's a guess shit puzzle. After you reach room 46, you can unlock Dare mode by buying this item from a new shop you can place. It introduces conditions you have to meet each day or lose. It does require you create a new profile and start over. There's also curse mode which is a little bit more convoluted to unlock, but I think you just need to buy the curse book from the bookstore and read it at the library to get the curse idol item in the shop and then you need to get the shrine and a hammer to grab the idol to unlock the mode. It might be worth giving those a try, because it's just reach room 46 but with a challenge. --- http://i.imgur.com/BBcZDLJ.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

Alright going to disagree with everything entirely saying that I am about halfway to 3/4 through the game its an extremely layered game. It starts out with simple puzzle stuff that is fairly simple and the RNG room mechanics. But the further you get you start to get more and more complex puzzles. And more importantly you start to notice that things you dismissed as irrelevant are actually very important and part of a puzzle you didnt even realise was a puzzle. This is the best part about this game. The realisation that something has been staring you in the face the entire time and you didnt even know the RNG: at first it seems really s***. But honestly its overblown and really its not even an issue. it just seems that way at first. You just need to learn more about things. Ive had multiple runs with so many steps, keys, gems and money that you wouldnt even think possible when you first start. Ive filled out every room in the house multiple times. There are ways to mitigate every aspect of the RNG if you want. You just need to find it what I did find bad: You really want to dig in deep to the puzzles and information. Some times too much. Ive found myself stuck lately because I have forgotten a piece of information i read 40 hours ago that became relevant again. This is a game where every piece of information is important and sometimes I feel you need to remember too much. Especially when I only can play like an hour a day some of the later puzzles require specific room combinations and this can get frustrating. some of the endgame puzzles do seem incredibly difficult to the point Im not sure I could solve them without looking something up But really this game is amazing and should be played by anyone who likes to think about puzzles or play escape rooms --- Currently Playing: Blue Prince ... I get its not for everyone. Personally I love it, havent written notes on physical paper like this since I was a kid, and its such a fun experience. Makes me feel like a detective and the excitement when I finally figure something out is so worth it. I disagree its a guessing game with no sense of progression. Im on day 60+ and almost every day has been something new. The start is pretty annoying with RNG and there is nothing that teases you on how big the puzzles are gonna be, which is both good and bad. --- http://i.imgur.com/hRsG4.jpg I realized the gifs prob aren't allowed anymore ...
