Everyone is tariffied

The Fed spoke and basically say they are winging it citing unemployment, inflation, and nothingburger political decisions. They said they have counters to conditions and will act based on them. For now, theyre waiting for certain indicators in these unpredicatable times. Until then, the Fed is waiting to respond.

In depression era times. You need to rethink your portfolio. Covered calls etf, energy, utilities, health and raw material prices are the sectors you want to look into. My portfolio was mostly in cash etf and energy as I was preparing for the free fall. I'm barely hit. My growth is gone but that was expected.

Change your strategy

Multiple times this year Trump announced tariffs and it dropped then he changed his mind.

Everyone, including islands where the only inhabitants are penguins and seals (0 humans), have been tariffed to hell. Im sure the penguins are working out trade deals with the EU and China right now, and preparing for retaliatory 5000% tariffs on all US goods.

If you aren't planning a big purchase soon then there's no reason to sell. The very basic premise of investing is buy low sell high. And yet every time there's a drop people panic and sell low. Some people say they'll sell now and buy lower, but there's no way to predict where the lows are and you're more likely to just miss the rise back up later. People who stayed invested through the 2008-2009 crisis had all their money back within a couple years. People who sold during the panic in large part missed the rise back up.

Kinda wish I went through with converting my IRA to money market instead of stocks. Should have trusted my instincts.

Also known as a massive transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the wealthy.

Those with disposable cash on hand will get richer. Those with 401ks will have to endure until (hopefully) a recovery to break even.

Thank you. This is the right idea. Average down opportunities. I sold some of my growth a few months ago. I'm sitting on cash ready to buy back in at a discount.

I'm not particularly wealthy. I'm looking for work. But anyone could see this coming. Trump announced it in his election process. Many thought he was joking. I did not.

I totally understand this thought process, even while I am extremely anxious when looking at the numbers in my account.

That said - is it realistic to have faith that this will have an upswing down the line when the demolition of our entire system right now is intended by our President? It isn't quite the same situation in 2008-2009. How do you have faith that it will ever swing back the other way when the people in power are actively trying to eliminate growth within the middle class? It feels like we are in completely uncharted territory here.
