But I also didn't like Rabbit's motivation for bringing down the wall. Made no fucking sense to combine both worlds when his initial motivation was to create a safe space for the innocent Makaians. His talk about how it'll be safer after a few generations didn't make much sense to me either. Action was generally good but yeah, it might as well have been Lady May Cry. He's doing cool shit for no reason and being his goofy self. The music is very fitting no matter which way you interpret that. I'm not a huge fan of JYB here though. I feel He's a terrible pick for Dante. Hes still coming off somewhat serious even when Dante is fucking around. Everything else is also having that vibe of being overly dreary and serious. Normally, that's fine but they're such a huge part of the show that it's too much. It just becomes evil Trix rabbit vs very serious straight laced demon hunters. Then Dante who is written correctly but his VA is often too serious. It's a lot of boring mixed in with "Jackpot" moments --- I don't believe in belts. However, what makes him lovable is the confidence he has in how he carries himself. He is 100% secure in who he is and doesnt care what people think about his goofy actions. Not only that but lady got more of the spotlight for sure, hated the ~~CG Demon form, Dante never keeps any of the weapons from the DMC3 bosses~~ and ending felt so rushed especially some bad writing. I did like the fights as well as It did make me smile to see DMC2 cameos and who the US leader was. I'm guessing lady will end up finding out what they did and free Dante. Just go rogue in the end leaving the military. Vergil im pretty mixed about here. Really assumed he was just brainwashed by mundus the whole time. They weren't hiding it, and she turned Dante in anyway. And Ill be clear: there is nothing wrong with political commentary making its way into a narrative. Its natural for writers to sprinkle their own views and ideas into their work. Thats how art works.
