After fucking y-e-a-r-s, I've finally done the impossible. Getting my degree? Getting my house? The friends we made along the way? All meaningless and minuscule compared to getting a lvl 99 in Oldschool Runescape! This was my life goal from the moment I was ejected from the womb, and I've finally achieved it >_> I cannot believe this day has finally come. (I even had a small drink to celebrate)

No but seriously, getting lvl 99 in any 1 skill in Oldschool Runescape takes 100s of hours or more (and there's 23 of them!) and I finally got my 1st 99 in the farming skill. Seeing those glorious fat fireworks pop up after years of playing was truly glorious >_> What do you get for achieving such a monumental task? A fancy cape....

Are there different capes for each skill at 99? Or is it all the same cape?

I had a few 99s in the original runescape. what people call old school RS will never feel old school to me

yes (*asterisk)

Each skill gets its own cape when you reach 99 and each cape has some unique perk to it relating to the skill. Like the farming cape I got gives me 5% more yield in my herb crops which I sell for money. Something like the Construction cape gives you free unlimited teleports to your house (which is amazing) or the Herblore cape gives you a 2 cent pestle and mortar you can buy literally anywhere (very trash perk lol)

However, if you do the no-life task of getting 99s in all 23 skills, you get something called the Max Cape which combines all the perks of every skill cape into it. But that takes forever to get.

It was a long time ago so no pics. Back when you'd drop a lot of loot (even your equipped weapon) on death and enemy NPCs could pick your stuff up, so you'd have to kill them to get it back

Geeeez, that sounds rough. I'm glad MMOs have moved towards saving your shit when you die. IIRC I think Runescape even had you lose everything on death back in its heyday in the mid-00s

btw, if I get a 2nd 99 in a skill, I can trim every skill cape with a fancy color from that point forward. It's purely cosmetic and just shows to everyone that you aren't some only-one-lvl99-skill-having-bitch-n00b >_> I'll probably do firemaking next since it gets exp pretty quickly

lol, I'm good. I retired my farming gear to the wardrobe in my house >_> No more tree farming for me ever again. Only herbs for making money now.

In case people don't know, you can also get 200m exp in a single skill to reach the exp cap. your level doesn't increase past 99, but if you reach 200m exp, the drop rate for rare pets increases. The exp to reach lvl99 is a little over 13m.

How long will it take to get to 200m exp? Well it's the equivalent of getting lvl99 in a skill about 16 times, so I'm gonna pass on that >_>

I don't think so. Definitely not in OSRS because he never touched it. As for RS3, I'm 90% sure someone overtook him and he hasn't logged in in a long time.

Zezima gave up and got passed well before RS3. Lynx Titan has been rank 1 in OS longer than Zezima was for RS2. Hel finally lose the rank with the launch of Sailing though.

The trimmed capes actually have a decent prayer bonus, so they're fun to have around for AFKing slayer tasks with protect prayers~

Gratz on 99 farming!!!!!!! Damn I was training it too but im still level 94. Keep forgetting to do tree runs lol

Im still at 153m agility xp.

Been training slayer lately and trying out pvm content. I hit 2200 total level a few days ago.

Did a few 300 invo TOAs with clan mates (they carried me hard). Tried a few solo 150 to 200 invo but kept dying to Warden. Gonna go back once I have a bowfa and higher range and def level. Definitely is doable with my current stuff and better playing skills tho but I dont want to keep wasting supplies rn.

Completed a few regular gauntlets. Still attempting a corrupted gauntlet run. Closest I got so far was hunleff being down to 30 hp. I ran out of food that time. Def doable at my current lvl tho but I'll make it easier with higher defense and range. Even with t2 armour hunleff's chip damage is quite high @ 82 defense. Gonna retry at like 85 def and 90 range.

You gonna be 1b xp by the time you max jeez lol. Can force staff/bow while learning CG if you arent already.

Yeah I tried staff and the halberd briefly in regular gauntlet and realized im not at that level yet lol.

So have been using staff/bow for now.

Will prob give it another go sometime today at my current stats. Just want 1 cg completion before grinding out my combats some more. Want to be able to do a T1 cg run eventually.

I think level 50 is something like 1% of the total xp required to hit 99

Thanks! I know level 92 is the halfway point in exp to level 99. Looked it up and level 50 is less than that! 0.7% lol

Used to do rs3 played thru with bonds. Then bonds became like 80m gold used to be like 6m gold. (They give you membership.) I was like no thanks.

I got 120 dungeoneering. The dailies before they merged it gave like 3-400k do daily. 120 was like 103 million xp.

Climbing to the top was fun. I found the mid game the best part of rs. Endgames kinda just afk at a rock.

lol I kinda get it. I also got the quest cape, but I dont think I'm strong enough to do raids, so I'm just afking on some skill until I build up to it
