thuganomics cena wasn't heel, people just didn't like him.

He was a heel in 2003, and was cheered as a face in 2004. The mixed reactions started around the end of 2005, but he was pretty much done rapping at that point. Though he still had some of the imagery of it.

except in this case theres a whole new generation who hasnt experienced that its not the same crowd anymore he should definitely do a call back promo or something just for pure nostalgia Im not saying he has to make it his entire gimmick again we all know hes gonna cross out the rock either to become a face again or dive deeper into the heel character before this is all over anyway

He shouldn't go back to Dr. Thuganomics because that's what made Cena a beloved babyface in the first place.

Jey Uso fits the bill in some ways. In the 00s we had John Cena awkwardly acting like a rapper while using outdated slang, and now we have Jey awkwardly screaming an almost decade-old Vine meme.

Also they need to bring the spinner belt back, that shit was unironically awesome

its been longer than that bro theres a whole population of youth who first got into Cena when he announced Osamas death that alone was already 15 years ago imagine being a pre teen at that time and growing up into your late 20s early 30s and just now seeing him as a heel for the first time
