I was looking it from a gun control perspective. That is, you would think they'd be a little more amped to talk about gun control when one of their own rich elites got gunned down. But even that doesn't get anyone talking about gun control.

Nah this still very consistently bring up that the shooter played video games every time something like this happens

So far, not much information about the shooter is out yet.

Well, in the past they have proposed:

1. More guns, in the form of security guards or arming teachers
2. Bigger/better doors

Because making it harder to get a gun, or doing proper background checks, is apparently impossible.

So did this school have metal detectors that students have to go through before entering the school. For some reason it seems rare for school shootings to happen in inner cities that have those metal dectectors. I went to High School in The Bronx in NYC and my high school had them and there was this feature where after 15 minutes the door is locked automatically no one can enter unless you knock and the teacher lets you in.

I checked social media and response there is why have it. But this wasnt asked toward the inner city students when they got put in their schools. Kinda like when the highways got built through the poor neighborhoods. Powers that be just did it and didnt do it to other parts of cities.

And nothing will happen because the victims weren't children of CEOs or politicians. In fact, this article will be forgotten by the media in a couple of days.

I know this is an 11 post alt but actually in 2024 at the state level Wisconsin shifted blue, re-elected our dem senator, and shifted toward trump less than any of the other swing states (in addition to having a Den governor)

if you want gun control legislation the state government and federal senator elections are far more important than the president

Yea. It think that is just how it is with news stories all their life cycles tends to be a couple days and then it on to the new story. Which often is the next school shooting.

It isnt likely a mass shooting would ever kill multiple politicans. I referenced in previous post you have to go through metal detectors and airport screening that those inner city students got to go through to get into Congress. And they usually have armed guard protecting them if a bunch of them are in public. The two things people kinda dont want to hear mentioned with school shootings but politicans have that.

Theres nothing adherently wrong with that so long as the proper gun safety precautions are taken, firearm safety classes are taken, and most critically making sure the minor is mature enough with mental and emotional considerations taken

Also things like firearms being locked away where only adults have access and ammunition stored, locked up, separately

Yea it is strange when you know the place. My high school had a shooting that killed several people. But it was years after I graduated. But I remember it feeling strange seeing my school on national news
