No, but I don't have to write all that many emails, and usually the people aren't annoying.

If somebody's being difficult, all you have to do is copy their supervisor. It's nasty, but it's better than making a fool of yourself.

I used to have to deal with a guy in production control that I frankly eventually started just including his supervisor on the first email because he was difficult about literally everything. He would call my desk and bitch at me for it, but it's amazing how much less frequently I got responses that said "I didn't copy everything because it's a pain."

sometimes, especially if someone is making me angry. i find it's best to not reply until i've settled down and absorbed what was said.

I type what I want to say in Notepad and then send the professional email.

I dont have to respond to any work emails. In fact until the last couple years I would go years and years without even logging into my email. The only reason I do now is they implemented online training from Covid that they kept doing via email instead of in person so once a month I have to log in and complete training but there is nothing to respond to.

I dont have the type of job where I need to use email at work. Its just stupid stuff going on at the university that doesnt impact me. I delete it all when I log in, except the flagged training email. Been at my job since June 28th 1999 and had a .edu email from day 1 and never really had a need to use it.

I know the rest of campus relies heavily on email but not me or my job.
