I dont mind time changes. They honestly dont impact me at all. I adjust instantly with no problem. However if we are going to do this I prefer this vastly. I fucking hate in the summer in the Midwest when on my days off it doesnt get dark until 10 pm. Id much rather have it dark at 9 pm.

Im a weird person who likes early darkness in the winter. When its pitch dark at 5 pm Im happy and love it. DST is definitely the worst one and if we are going to get rid of one that is the one that needs to go.

I think it would be better if the US time zones could change to the following

ET - 3 hours behind UK
CT - 4 hours behind UK
PT - 5 hours behind UK

I know it wouldn't be viable but the time zones as they are now mean it's shit if you want to watch certain stuff, like wrestling for example. Only thing I dislike with trying to watch wrestling is the numerous adverts. That and the late start.

During the winter, if you live sufficiently North (or south, in the southern hemisphere) you WILL lose daylight during the winter. Your only choice is whether you'd prefer a later dawn or an earlier dusk. There is no way to actually get extra daylight, unless you move closer to the equator.

But I see no reason why everybody should have to change their clocks just because some people have inflexible working hours.

remember Florida is farther south than the majority of the US, you get a lot more sunlight

with DST the sun sets at like 4pm in December here in wisconsin

My day starts at 6, and ends at 230/3.

So yes, Standard Time benefits me the most, in that most of my driving time is going to be in the dawn or early hours of sunrise, or while the sun is out, as opposed to pitch darkness as it usually is when Daylight Savings Time kicks in.

The sun setting at 5 PM or earlier also doesn't bother me in the slightest either, since I prefer my nights to, you know, actually be dark, as opposed to looking out the window at 9 PM and still seeing daylight.

We should stay on permanent DST, I hate it getting dark so early in the winter.

I don't even care which, just pick one and stick with it.

If I could pick, I'd keep midnight in the middle of the night (imagine that) but as long as they stop switching it twice a year, I'm happy either way.

A couple of years ago the Dems and Reps (in an extremely rare event) actually agreed on something and both decided it's a good idea to get rid of Daylight Saving switching altogether, but they couldn't agree on whether it should be always on or always off. The matter was dropped after that.
