Looks like they're selling slow on ebay. Last one sold for $140 2 days ago, minus $20+ in fees so that person got a <$30 profit. Good luck doing better locally where there will be way less people willing to pay double $85.

Im aware. Its why Im waiting a week to see if anyone bites. Ill post 160, take 150 in negotiations, wont consider anything under 140 or so. As thats what Ill get after fees from eBay so theres no point.

Buyer pays shipping. Cross code is apparently a 65 dollar game complete and not 41 so thats 30 in pocket after fees. Tsukihime is the big winner, like 55 profit after fees.
The rest are like 10-12 bucks and not worth the effort if it was all I got sure, but I got 4 so thats 40 bucks. Thats 125-130 bucks profit after fees and taxes for 3 hours of driving and shopping. I live 2 blocks from my local post office so thats a 20 minute walk max there and back. Its not a bad side hustle given the time investment if I do it every few weeks. Doing it daily makes no sense, only going to get one game a day if that if inventory isnt allowed to build up. Most games are only like 10 bucks in actual profit after all is said and done when buying through GameStop like this.

Like GameStop just got a bunch of Gravity Rush remastered copies in stock. Found 4 used in the last 2 weeks in 4 different stores. Was like 80 bucks or so on eBay a few months ago when stock was difficult to find, when this restock sells out itll be 80 again. Hell for all I know it was 100+, simple eBay search doesnt go that far back.

going to price charting history it spiked to 140+ twice in the last few years. If I had to guess it was around the release of the sequel for one of them.

It also applies to Christmas gifts, though I guess that little thought never crossed your mind. You have someone who has been saving because they know their loved one really wants to play this game but they don't have a lot of money. So they go to gamestop, its sold out. So they go on Facebook marketplace, craigslist or kijiji only to find out that the copy they could have had is being sold for triple even quadruple the price. It's part of the reason why value stores pricing is all screwed up. They are following Ebay listings of games that should be sold at 20/30 dollars and seeing them listed for 150 and then listing them at their store for that price. No one benefits.

I'd have more respect for you if you kept the games for yourself. At least then I'd know you weren't screwing others over. As for the money bit, we all have money problems. We just find better ways to fix that.

Honestly though, no one needs to have this. I've always believed if someone's scalping necessities then they're a problem to society. Scalping a video game is a big whatever. Especially if someone's paying more for a limited edition just to have it when they can play the regular version of the game for less.

The action of scalping is ensuring that someone who actually wants something will need to pay more to get it.

No one NEEDS anything outside of necessities, but buying stuff out and then selling it for more still makes you an asshole even if they arent necessities.

Prior to today Ive only ever bought 7 games for the sole purpose of reselling. Just to trigger you here they are. Got 3 of the trails games on clearance from GameStop for 30 bucks each, they held full MSRP. Except the most recent one, had 35 bucks in coupon/store credit expiring if I didnt use it but didnt actually want anything so used that plus 30 out of pocket to cover it. And the gravity Rush I explained. Maybe Ill play it one day but if it spikes to triple digits again Im not that attached to it. And I triple dipped on persona 5 on the switch just for the steel book version when it was clearanced out at 30 bucks, its worth 53 so again not much actual profit.

Well they are indeed luxury items.

I was one of the people trying to find a PS5 during that time. I ended up getting an upgraded gaming PC instead and have no regrets. Everything coming out during that period was playable on the PS4 anyway so even if consoles weren't considered luxury items no one needed to buy a PS5.
