Syria and Israel have been locked in a perpetual war since the establishment of Israel in 1948, so they are probably just happy.

Ah, the CE doom brigade is already out in force predicting ww3 and the deployment of US troops for the umpteenth time, I see.

Look, this is an escalation, but we've seen this dog and pony show. Israel oversteps, Iran reacts to save face, Israel hits back one or two sites, both sides threaten, rinse and repeat.

Edit: oh, and Israel will get more defensive munitions from the US, Iran will get more supplies from China, both sides make money and proceed.
