I actually lost my shoes for a while in college and just went barefoot to everything for a couple weeks. I'd left them in a prof's office (less weird than it sounds, Barry and I used to hang out).

I used to always be barefoot at home. I'd only put on socks before leaving the house, right before putting on my shoes. Unfortunately at my current place the floor is too cold for that to be comfortable.

The moment I get home from work I take off my work boots, socks, change out of work clothes and wear only a pair of athletic shorts.

No socks, no shirt, no boxers, nothing else. All year round even in winter. I'm 48 years old and have never worn socks in the house in my life. I only put on socks to leave the house. And in the spring through fall I often just wear sandals to run my errands and don't wear socks when leaving the house either except for work.

I can understand around the house, though I've grown to not be like that, however I used to have a bandmate who walked everywhere barefoot. He even did it in high school, like in the actual school. That was unfathomable to me, even if it is our natural state.

Our entire house has ceramic tile and it's really uncomfortable being barefoot or in socks walking around. Also no matter how clean the floor is, it's feels dirty. Every little dust particle or crumb sticks to your feet. I've worn shoes/sandals inside the house for close to 20 years now. I am only barefoot in the shower and in bed. I really miss carpet.

I dislike the feeling of socks when I'm im bed, I have this uncontrolable urge to rub me bare feet on clean sheets, one of the best feelings.

But while at home, it feels much better to have socks, dirt on your feet feels icky and even after sweeping and moping, particles of airborne dust settle back on the ground and makes your feet feel weird.
