I sure as shit do, but I cant seem to put them down until I get to a spot that requires me to take a break. My wife laughs her ass off at me when I suddenly go Oh shit! Oh fuck!

Only if there's a good jump scare. That's the only thing that scares me in any game or movie.

Yep. I tried replaying Silent Hill last year and I couldn't get through it. Dunno how I did when I was younger, multiple times too.

Oh yeah. When I played SOMA and Alien: Isolation especially, I had to often stop just for sanity sake.

Alien Isolation got me with those androids, but that was the only one.

I dunno, maybe I just don't get that invested.

I wish I had a VR headset so I could play Biohazard and Village with it. My wife would lose her mind.

I was told that my love for horror stems from a chaotic life with no real end in sight and that horror movies/games bring me comfort because its super scary but you know youre in no real danger and will come out of it perfectly fine. They actually keep my anxiety at bay.

I wouldn't say scared, but depending on the atmosphere, it can get heavy to the point where it's not as fun.

when that happens, I have to be into the story/immersed to continue; otherwise, I might put it down for a while.

I haven't played many, but never been frightened by the ones I have played (unless you count anxiety from a phone ringing in Luigi's Mansion, because that's just my standard reaction to the sound of a phone ringing). Generally I'm too busy planning out what I'm doing and what I want to do. It's not like a movie where I'm just sitting there unable to actually influence what's happening.

you mean RE7?

if so, I only played a little bit, but I thought it was a cool change of pace from the rest of the series.

I'm trying to get back into Alan Wake 2. I liked what I played, but it was a little dark for what I was looking for at the time.

I can get pretty on edge when I first start a really good one but that slowly goes away as I get used to it. Only a few like Alien Isolation and Amnesia have managed to keep me on my toes throughout the game.

Yes, I basically can't play them because of it. I really like watching them regardless.

Yeah, I can't relax, so I dont play them.
Outlast was the last one I played, and even though it's just a game of hide seek, the jump scares got me too good

yes and no.

like, jump scares and stuff like that don't do much for me. but some games get the atmosphere just right and it makes playing the game uncomfortable.

like RE2 remake? I can play through that game no problem, even tho its generally a scary game i dont feel completely powerless while playing it. Silent Hill on ps1? that game makes me feel super uneasy the whole time, like nausea without a stomach ache.

there's a game i had on ps3 called lone survivor. that one really did a good job of making me feel uneasy the whole time. not many times I felt scared/frightened, but everything felt "heavy" while playing, if that makes sense. its a 2d sidescroller, and tbh it's prob the most immersed i've ever been while playing a game.

Only at unexpected jump scares. The games can still be fun even if they can't actually be scary.
