Trump is a different situation wherein he's burned so many bridges with lawyers that he's kinda stuck with what he can get for that reason.

Even if this were an unwinnable case, that shouldn't be true for Baldwin.

Alright, so the rest of the witnesses were just laying down the ground work so the jury has an idea of how everything went down and the credibility of the facts. It's just foundational evidence stuff. After the first witness, things at least moved quicker and the defense was clearly not going to keep blundering through.

The bullet situation is absolutely absurd though. They had live rounds as props and then eventually the live rounds got mixed up with the dummy rounds. Just all these guns and everything messily tossed in a cart.

The prosecution is just establishing that the set was a freaking mess with the last witness and that Alec Baldwin reasonably knows the set was a mess and unsafe and that he should have practiced more caution.

Day 1 over. This is supposed to go 10 days.

but I really disliked the depp trial topic and I also dislike this one. it just strikes me as TMZ level gossip chicanery. don't take this as a personal attack please. it just seems like unless you are actually involved in the trial you're always getting it through second hand and biased lenses

We have had people post asmongold breakdowns in the past. The guy let's roaches crawl on him. Of course it's all gossip :/

So I didn't notice this yesterday, but Alec Baldwin repeatedly fell asleep yesterday.

The jury is in no way going to look at that favorably. I have no idea how his team didn't wake him up and keep him awake.

I'm traveling with plane wifi all day so we'll see if I can see any of this today!

For those unaware, she is the armorer. And a piece of shit, honestly, given her conduct through this whole thing. No sympathy, and comes across as a spoiled brat. She was already found guilty.

She refused to cooperate with the Baldwin Trial so I'll be stunned if she does appear. But a bunch of outlets are saying she will, so it will be interesting if she does.

Alright, so Baldwin's attorney was doing such a good job. He was doing awesome. He was crossing the investigator and was getting to the point that Alec Baldwin did not know there were live rounds on the set (questionable, but he made a good case--we'll see on redirect if it sticks), and he established that even if Alec Baldwin wanted to check if there were dummy rounds, that dummy rounds look identical to live rounds and he wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

But he has spent two hours fucking up questioning the witness, doing all the same fuck ups from yesterday and dragging it out and making arguments that don't matter and won't move the jury, so that all the good he did before is buried and I barely understand what Baldwin's attorney wants us to take from this, and I imagine the jury is the same way. They called for lunch, again, because Baldwin's attorney can't figure out how to properly question a witness.

This dude is extremely frustrating. I'm at the point of losing all hope for him being able to effectively defend Baldwin because he has failed to stick the landing on the only two really good points he's made so far.

Holy fuck.

The prosecutor is requesting that all of Baldwin's police interview be left in because his doofus fucking attorney opened the doors about his ignorance of guns and dummy rounds, his demeanor, the rules for gun safety and how you're never supposed to aim your gun at someone, and how he knows the danger of it.

And then the Judge is allowing it all in. This is going to be a massacre now. This is the absolute worst thing that the defense wanted. This may be the thing that buries Baldwin.

Never talk to cops, not even once. Especially if you just shot someone.

This is the thing that a lot of people still don't realize. Even if you are 100% innocent you are never doing yourself any favors by answering police questions. You ask them if you are being detained or if you are free to go. If they tell you that you ARE being detained you exercise your right to remain silent.

I remember watching the police interview and knowing it was devastating, but I forgot just how bad it was for him.

His attorney talks about how he can't figure out the difference between dummy rounds and regular rounds, but Alec Baldwin explains how each one is different.

And that Alec Baldwin had no duty to safety when Alec talked in the interview all about his duty to safety and how every actor knows it.

Like it's actually insane how much he revealed in that police interview and I have no idea why he ever thought that was a good idea and assumed he would never get in trouble for this.

The Stephanopolis interview is coming in too where it contradicts so much of what he said in the police interview.

And Baldwin FUCKING LEFT. He heard this and he is gone. And now he's come back. Presumably he just left to vent his frustration.

Jury is back in.

The Judge is objecting on the prosecution's behalf saying "She's about to object, lack of foundation, and then I'm going to tell you to lay the foundation, so can we please try to keep that in mind?"

Judge is sick and tired of this guy.

The prosecutor on redirect demolished literally everything the defense tried to build about how someone else mixed the live ammo and loaded the gun for two hours by saying that someone has already been arrested and convicted for this, and Baldwin isn't being charged for these things. Lol

The prosecutor is leading the hell out of the witness and the defense just isn't objecting to it.

This whole time, myself and everyone else was baffled why Baldwin's defense was belaboring all of this stuff that doesn't play to the jury at all and seems irrelevant. And it turns out that he wasn't playing to the jury, he said as playing to the Judge instead to lay the groundwork that all of this investigation was corrupt.

This makes sense that this prosecutor was threatening a bunch of YouTubers and stuff too.

And that apparently a bunch of people left her team during this case because they saw how corrupt this is.

Like this is INSANE and massive.

From what I was reading the gun was busted and fired when the police were testing it without them pulling the trigger, and they also destroyed the gun and tried to hide all of this or something to that effect?

Okay, my understanding is that it was something about ammunition that was given to them that they hid from the defense in both trials. It doesn't seem like it would move the needle on either defense, but if a corrupt prosecutor is willing to do that, imagine how much she's done to others, or what else she may have done to corrupt the investigation of this case too.

I imagine Gutierrez, the armorer, is going to appeal and have that decision be overturned as well.

Because he's an arrogant prick, he'll try to parlay this into "I was set up! I'm fully innocent!" I hope his career is done, but I don't know that it will be.

At the very least, it looks like this shitty Rust movie is going to be finished, because part of the settlement between Baldwin and the deceased's husband is that he gets to be an executive producer on the movie and that the movie MUST be completed. An extremely bizarre settlement, to say the least.

That's what I've been trying to determine.

Yes, the prosecutor maintains that it wasnt relevant evidence.

Objectively speaking, shes probably right.

The problem is that she doesnt get to unilaterally decide that.

Yes, that's exactly it. It's not her job to decide that, it's her job to turn over everything to the defense. Where it's sketchy is the convoluted stories about who receiving ammo when and what kind of ammo it is, which is what defense was lost in the sauce about these past two days, so fairplay to them for making it relevant.

I know two stories. One guy, Eric Hunley, had information from people on the set of Rust and she was threatening him to turn over who his sources are or else.

Nate the Lawyer said he was threatened too, and I don't know those details, but he said she threatened to go after one of his clients harder? I don't think he's a NM lawyer, so I'm not sure the details on this one, but he's a solid dude and it would be a weird thing to lie about.

In both cases, she was swearing and screaming, from what they said.

Because he pointed a gun at somebody and fired it without proper safety precautions being taken.

It's like it someone hands you a gun and says it's safe. Would you point that at somebody and fire, or would you put it in your mouth and fire? Of course not. This is all the prosecution had to prove.

They also had enough information about the gun before, during, and after that to have a solid case about how the gun can be fired (in that he had to have pressed the trigger).

This certainly took an unexpected turn. Never in a million years did I expect this.

The prosecutor called herself to the stand?! That right there is messed up. Shows she has involvement in the case and thus shouldn't be allowed to prosecute it. Could also be just her taking a platform to manipulate the jury. Not cool.

Withholding evidence to get a guilty verdict is a crime. Definitely reminds me of Ace Attorney villains. Only absolute scum would do something like that. Your job is to bring out the truth, not to win at all costs. This will certainly result in her being disbarred.

I expect to hear of the armorer filling an appeal on Monday. Maybe Tuesday. Her lawyer will certainly be paying her a visit to sign the papers.

Something I was wondering, could a person still be in legal trouble even if they don't pull the trigger? Like the gun malfunctions at exactly the wrong time and fires. My understanding is that even pointing the gun at other people was a violation of safety protocol designed to defend against accidental firings.
