I still love it though. The state is so massive that your lifestyle changes drastically depending on where you are living. Like, Southeast/Southcentral is nothing like Interior which is nothing like the North Slope. I enjoy having so much space to explore. It is a pretty awesome feeling driving up the Dalton or Steese, picking a direction and going for a hike knowing you're possibly the first person to stand where ever you happen to be at the time. The summers are amazing as long as you're willing to combat the giant mosquito swarms and forest fires. 6 months of winter is rough, a lot of people can't handle that, and the 20 hours of darkness in the winter and 20 hours of daylight in the summer. But in exchange for that... no real pest issues. No ticks, no termites, no snakes, only one spider that could be deadly. Of course... you have Moose and Bears and Wolves that may try to kill you from time to time. The Tundra is my favorite though. The Tundra in the fall is as pretty as anything in Southeast IMO. --- My head's not torn off, my sunglasses aren't broken.
