He's one of those "you have to be 100% faithful or it's bad" type of people. Hence why he think The Last of Us sucks but the Mario movie was one of the best movies ever made. I don't judge a show based on if it's loyal to its source material, that's a criticism for sure, but I rather judge a show based on its own merits. This show is a 9/10 from it's sense of humor, to the CGI (the armor, I honestly can't tell when it's cgi or not...that's how good it was), to the set designs, to the dialogue, script, story, the mystery and the reveals, etc. It was all fantastic, my only gripe with the show is there was times when too many convenient things happen, like a character being at the right place at the right time. My friend joked that it was paying homage to the fast travel feature lol.
