Topics being closed are not moderations, a moderation is created with a specific ID and remains on your usermap for a time depending on the action taken.

Topics are typically closed when the original post itself wasn't a violation but things might've gone off the rails and veered into territory where many potential violations begin occurring.

If you have recently closed topic, it won't contribute to getting banned, but you're more likely to be modded in general if a mod recognizes you causing trouble

Thank you. This clears up my initial inquiry. Follow-up question (post #4 above), does this reasoning make such topics appropriate for discussion on the Ask the Mods Message board?
