I watched a few on Youtube. Almost always because someone I know either wanted to talk about it or make fun of it.
Asura's Wrath just left me disappointed the gameplay was so basic.
Not a genre I'd recommend at all.

Ahh, OK. Thanks!
I thought Dragon's Lair and Space Ace were fun, but more as a one off.

Never heard of an interactive movie. How would that even work? Movies are pre-filmed.

Bandersnatch was okay.
I'm not sure how much I was projecting on it or how meta it was really intended to be, but ultimately it felt "not chosey" and hollow.

They have their place. Some are enjoyable one-offs that in no way interfere with my enjoyment of other genres.

I remember having Fox Hunt in PS1, it kinda better than the movie.

Also didn't the reason we got video game ratings is because an interactive movie game?

There are three videogames that are "blamed" for this. Mortal Kombat, Night Trap and Doom.
Night Trap is an interactive movie.

Wales Interactive make some pretty decent ones. I don't love them enough to keep up with every single one (they normally drop several a year), but for the cheap price and the fact that your choices genuinely can send things spinning in very different directions, they're well worth a couple of evenings. Their quality is really pretty consistent (if you wanted to pick a "best" one then it would be Night Shift, but they're all pretty much on a level tbh).

It's quite good fun seeing how well - and how badly - they coped with COVID lockdown rules for some of them. Five Dates and Who Pressed Mute On Uncle Marcus do it in a clever way (being set during online speed dating and a family Zoom quiz night, respectively), making the fact that the actors are literally filming from their own front rooms/bedrooms a plot point. Night Book does it laughably badly, by trying to pretend that both main characters are in the same house at the same time but somehow neither one ever goes into a room that the other does - this also has the accidental affect of giving the house some impossible geography that hurts your head when you try to suss out the floorplan, haha, and weirdly this gives it a lot of charm.

Ones I've played outside of Wales Interactive are more hit and miss, IMO. Erica would have been fantastic if it didn't self-sabotage by forcing a mobile phone or touchpad only control scheme that doesn't work and makes it hit-and-miss what choice you pick at the relevant time. Dark Nights With Poe And Munro was ridiculously over-acted (it was a stylistic choice, but that doesn't stop it being fucking horrendous) and that put me off trying the apparently very well received Madness Of Doctor Dekker and/or The Shapeshifting Detective, which are set in the same universe. And Telling Lies is an absolute critical darling, but truthfully I played it all the way through, even somehow got the Platinum trophy, and I still have literally no idea what happened, what it's all about, or how the game even works. It's the most legitimately baffling experience I've ever had with a Dual Shock controller, haha

One of the Final Destination movies had an interactive version on the DVD, I think it was the 3rd one. You could just subvert the whole movie on the first decision lol
