Then there's modern, which is closer to smash/tekken easy mode, featuring a 4 button layout instead of 6, with lmhS and using directional inputs for specials and not require opposite direction release for charge moves, but having specials do 20% less damage. Some of the Guilty Gear games have a control mode that contexts based on range and auto combos, Dragonball FighterZ has auto combos, and Granblue has specials on one-button use a la Smash, just based on cooldowns. SF6 as I understand has two different versions of casual controls, with two different levels of what it does for you (only one was available in the beta but they had the other planned). A while back I tried the skull girls tutorial but couldnt complete the bread and butter tutorial where you do a long ass ground combo, launch and then long ass air combo into a super. So I never continued been playing strive and having a lot of fun. Highest I got was floor 9 but couldnt make floor 10. It seems like every god damn player knows combos, and particularly wall combos since if they get even a single hit in Im basically dead. Even at floor 6. But despite that I managed to use May to get to floor 9 with sneaky orca supers, but it doesnt feel real since I cant do wall combos or any combos will try street fighter as well, I already pre-ordered it. In 5 I played Rashid, and never needed to do anything that was more than a 4 or 5 move combo. In this, you need to charge back for sonic boom, but you don't need to press forward to use it, Guy-ell can just hold back and hit a boom with modern controls, or flash kick without standing. So he could walk forward with a one-button Flash Kick at the ready that would stifle anything an opponent tried to do as soon as they pressed a button. They didn't try at all to balance Flash Kick around those controls.
