Did you ever have a subscription to a video game magazine(s)?

Back in the day I had subs for GamePro, EGM, Game Informer, Next Generation, Official Playstation and Computer and Video games.

I had Nintendo Power back in 1990-91.

Apart from that, I bought a couple issues of stuff like EGM back in the late 90s/early 2000s, but it was always just off the rack based on the covers rather than subscribing.

Tips and Tricks. Dumb choice to subscribe to. I loved it as a kid, but half of each issue was the "cheats" sections, which was awesome but buying just one or 2 issues a year would cover that area. There news and reviews, my favorite things to read about where pretty light. EGM was probably the most well rounded back in the day. I had a buddy who subscribed to it, and would give me each issue a few weeks after they were out. I purchased a pretty decent amount of Game Informer ,I think it was, as well.

Forgot to say, I was never subscribed, but I used to read Game Players all the time. It was by far the most irreverent of the 90s/00s gaming mags.

I remember having a subscription that came with Sega Saturn "bootleg sampler" CDs. Or maybe the subscription was just those CDs, I can't even remember. I had other magazine subscription, but not for games.

I had Nintendo Power from 1988 - 1997. Also had EGM for a couple of years in college.

Those were the only subscriptions. I had a few issues of PC Accelerator I bought as a horny teenage gamer back in high school. I should see if I can find the whole print run online because despite the fact that it was basically PC Gamer with Maxim bikini models, their actual reviews were pretty awesome (and they came with demo disks with a dozen or so games).

Subscribed to Nintendo Power from its inception (1988) to my junior year of high school (1993).

Picked up the occasional issue of EGM or GamePro back in the day as well.

Everyone subscribed to Nintendo Power for a couple years back in the day (you know, back before the internet when it was the GameFAQs equivalent and when games were often unbeatable without a guide). Post-internet there's not much need/purpose.

Who's "everyone"? that you speak of? Noone.

I didnt have a Nintendo Power subscription back in the 1990s

Early 1990s 1992-1994 i had a subscription to Gamepro and would go buy a random issue of Nintendo Power from a store like K Mart or a grocery store.

then in the mid late 1990s i would start buying issues of Official Playstation Magazine, Wizard Magazine, Toyfare Magazine and Gamepro from places like Waldenbooks at the mall

Lost interest in the Nintendo Power magazine anyway in the late 1990s when they were focusing too much on the Nintendo 64 games

wpot posted...
